All art work is created with professional quality, archival materials and with proper care will last a lifetime or more. Sue prefers working with oils because of the richness in color and durability. They are virtually indestructible with normal care. She is able to paint from your clear photo(s) to create a special gift or keepsake to cherish warm memories.
Commission are available in three options.
Traditional This style caters to people who appreciate realism, details and a traditional look. The painting is infused with enough of Sue's signature color to make the painting sing. Head and shoulder pose only with a plain or impressionistic background. This is painted with oils on hardboard which can be easily framed by the buyer.
Contemporary Bold colors and visible brushstrokes with a closely cropped face bring the focus on your animal's eye's, face and expression. This style is often described by others as 'energetic, fun and playful'. It appeals to those who like a bolder look or have an animal with a lively, 'bigger than life' type of rock star personality! It is painted on gallery wrapped canvas with the painting extending down the sides. No framing necessary for a clean, fresh, modern look.
Inspired This option can best be described as the artist's choice. Maybe its a certain candid pose, dramatic lighting or just something special inspires Sue to paint your animal in a different way that conveys her unique vision without restrictions or parameters. This option will be at Sue's descrection once she sees the reference material available. Steps to Commission a Pet Portrait 1. Choose painting size 2. Send a $100.00 plus tax deposit by mail or pay pal. address: Sue Steiner, White Horse Studio c\o Second April Art Galerie 324 Cleveland Ave. NW #207 Canton, Ohio 44702 Pay pal: 3. Send large sized file digital photos to artbysuesteiner@gmail.com or mail photos to the above address. 4. I will call you to discuss specifics. 5. I do commissions in the order in which I receive deposits so I will give you a time estimate for completion. Usually the time frame is 4-6 weeks. Christmas orders are best if in early since that is typically a busy time. 6. When the painting is completed I will send you an image for your final approval. You are also welcome to meet at my studio at anytime in the process. Periodic updates by e-mail or at my studio are possible if you desire. The balance is due upon your final approval. If the painting needs to be shipped the buyer pays for shipping. I pay the insurance. Your satisfaction is my priority. My business has grown by referrals and as a way to thank my past clients I offer discounts for repeat business. I love when people include personality traits and special memories of their pets. Feel free to include any of this kind of information. I think about what I've been told about the animal as I paint and I believe that shines thru in the final image.
